This table presents the annual global production of zeolites, measured in metric tons, broken down by country or locality from 2018 through 2022. Zeolites are microporous minerals widely used in industrial applications such as water purification, catalysis in petrochemical refining, and agriculture. Tracking production volumes by country is essential for understanding supply dynamics, market trends, and the economic significance of zeolite mining and processing worldwide. This data supports policymakers, industry stakeholders, and researchers in assessing resource availability and planning for future demand.
Analysis of the data reveals that China remains the leading producer, with output increasing significantly from 150,000 metric tons in 2021 to an estimated 200,000 metric tons in 2022, marking a substantial growth in production capacity. Slovakia also maintains a strong presence, producing 221,000 metric tons in 2022, though this reflects a slight decline from its peak of 234,000 metric tons in 2020. The Republic of Korea showed a notable rebound, with estimated production rising to 160,000 metric tons in 2022 after a dip to 128,000 metric tons in 2021. Conversely, Georgia experienced a dramatic drop from 171,000 metric tons in 2021 to just 4,810 metric tons in 2022, indicating a significant disruption or shift in its zeolite industry. The United States saw a decrease in production to 77,400 metric tons in 2022, down from 87,000 metric tons in 2021. Overall, global zeolite production returned to approximately 1,090,000 metric tons in 2022, matching the 2018 level but below the 1,180,000 metric tons recorded in 2021, suggesting some volatility in recent years.
