This table provides detailed information on the quantity and value of tungsten carbide powder exported from the United States to various countries and localities during the years 2020 and 2021. Tungsten carbide powder is a critical industrial material widely used in manufacturing cutting tools, abrasives, and wear-resistant components, making its trade data significant for understanding supply chain dynamics and economic relationships in the global mineral market. Tracking exports by destination helps identify key trading partners and market trends, which are essential for policymakers and industry stakeholders to assess demand, competitiveness, and potential vulnerabilities in the tungsten supply chain.
Analysis of the data reveals that total U.S. exports of tungsten carbide powder increased slightly from 415 metric tons in 2020 to 422 metric tons in 2021, with the total export value rising from $17.3 million to $17.9 million. Canada remained the largest recipient, with tungsten content exports growing from 128 metric tons valued at $4.86 million in 2020 to 173 metric tons worth $6.33 million in 2021, indicating a strong and expanding trade relationship. Notable increases also occurred in exports to the Republic of Korea, which rose from 18 metric tons ($675,000) to 29 metric tons ($1.07 million), and Saudi Arabia, where exports jumped from 1 metric ton ($61,000) to 8 metric tons ($415,000). Conversely, several countries experienced declines, such as Austria, which saw tungsten content exports drop from 39 to 13 metric tons and value from $662,000 to $222,000, and Belgium, which decreased from 9 to 4 metric tons with a corresponding value reduction. These shifts highlight evolving demand patterns and the importance of monitoring export flows to maintain a resilient and responsive tungsten carbide supply chain.
