This table presents detailed information on global tin mine production by country or locality, measured in metric tons of tin content, spanning the years 2019 through 2023. Such data is crucial for understanding the supply dynamics of tin, a metal widely used in electronics, soldering, plating, and various alloys. Tracking production trends helps industries anticipate market availability, price fluctuations, and potential supply chain risks, while also informing policymakers and investors about the global distribution of tin resources and the economic significance of mining activities in different regions.
Analyzing the data reveals that China remains the largest producer, although its output has gradually declined from 91,100 metric tons in 2019 to an estimated 70,000 metric tons in 2023. Indonesia, another major producer, experienced a significant drop from 86,947 metric tons in 2019 to 52,467 metric tons in 2021 but showed a recovery to an estimated 69,000 metric tons in 2023. Brazil’s production notably surged to 29,311 metric tons in 2023, more than doubling its 2022 figure of 13,399 metric tons, marking the most substantial year-over-year increase among the listed countries. Other notable producers include Peru, with relatively stable output around 26,000 metric tons in recent years, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which increased production steadily to 20,100 metric tons in 2023. Overall, global tin production rebounded to an estimated 305,000 metric tons in 2023 after a decline to 284,000 metric tons in 2022, indicating a recovering market and renewed mining activity worldwide.
