Mine Production Of Silver In The United States, By State

Home > Minerals > Silver

This table presents the annual mine production of silver in the United States, broken down by state, measured in kilograms. Tracking silver output at the state level is crucial for understanding regional contributions to the national supply, which supports various industrial applications including electronics, jewelry, and solar energy technologies. This data also informs economic planning and resource management, helping policymakers and industry stakeholders monitor trends, assess market stability, and guide investment decisions in mining infrastructure.

Analysis of the data from 2021 to 2023 reveals that total U.S. silver production has remained relatively stable, hovering around 1,020,000 kilograms each year. Among individual states, Nevada consistently leads in silver output, producing 196,000 kilograms in 2021 and maintaining a strong presence with 173,000 kilograms in 2023 despite a slight dip in 2022. Idaho showed notable volatility, increasing from 142,000 kilograms in 2021 to 169,000 kilograms in 2022 before declining to 145,000 kilograms in 2023. Arizona and Utah experienced gradual decreases over the three years, with Arizona dropping from 79,900 kilograms to 68,200 kilograms and Utah from 69,300 kilograms to 50,300 kilograms. The “Other” category, which aggregates production from several states including Alaska and California, increased from 536,000 kilograms in 2021 to 583,000 kilograms in 2023, indicating a growing contribution from these regions. Overall, while some states show fluctuations, the national silver production remains steady, reflecting a balanced distribution of mining activity across the country.
