This table presents detailed data on the quantities and values of tellurium metal exported from the United States to various countries and localities during the years 2022 and 2023. Tellurium is a critical element used in a range of industrial applications, including solar panels, thermoelectric devices, and advanced alloys. Tracking export volumes and values provides insight into international demand, trade dynamics, and the economic significance of tellurium within the U.S. mineral sector. This information is vital for policymakers, industry stakeholders, and analysts monitoring supply chains and market trends for this strategically important metal.
The data reveal a substantial increase in the total quantity of tellurium exported from 1,460 kilograms in 2022 to 14,900 kilograms in 2023, representing more than a tenfold rise. However, the total export value declined from $1,340,000 in 2022 to $840,000 in 2023, suggesting a significant drop in the average price per kilogram or changes in product form or purity. Canada emerged as the dominant destination in 2023, receiving 13,400 kilograms valued at $684,000, a dramatic increase from 474 kilograms and $46,400 in the previous year. Conversely, Singapore, which was the top recipient in 2022 with 910 kilograms valued at $1,280,000, recorded no exports in 2023. New export markets also appeared in 2023, including China with 25 kilograms valued at $35,000 and Mexico with 1,500 kilograms valued at $121,000, highlighting shifts in trade patterns and potential new industrial partnerships.
