U.S. Exports Of Monoammonium Phosphate

Home > Minerals > Phosphate Rock

This table presents detailed information on the quantity and value of monoammonium phosphate exported from the United States to various countries and localities during 2022 and 2023. As a critical component in fertilizer production, monoammonium phosphate plays a vital role in supporting global agricultural productivity. Tracking export volumes and values helps to understand trade dynamics, market demand, and economic contributions of this mineral commodity to the U.S. economy and its trading partners.

Analysis of the data reveals a notable decline in total exports from 1,990 thousand metric tons valued at $1.69 billion in 2022 to 1,730 thousand metric tons worth $1.11 billion in 2023. Canada remains the largest importer, though its quantity decreased from 1,220 to 1,140 thousand metric tons, with a significant drop in value from $1.01 billion to $797 million. Brazil also experienced a substantial reduction in both quantity (from 274 to 202 thousand metric tons) and value (from $255 million to $111 million). Conversely, Australia saw an increase in quantity exported, rising from 115 to 132 thousand metric tons, despite a decrease in value from $96.3 million to $71.4 million. Smaller markets such as Chile and Japan showed growth in both quantity and value, with Chile’s exports increasing from 2 to 12 thousand metric tons and value from $4,000 to $3.79 million. These shifts highlight changing trade patterns and market conditions influencing U.S. monoammonium phosphate exports in the first half of 2024.
