This table presents detailed data on the quantity and value of diammonium phosphate exported from the United States to various countries and localities during 2022 and 2023. Diammonium phosphate is a key fertilizer component widely used in agriculture to enhance crop yields by providing essential nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus. Tracking export volumes and values is crucial for understanding the U.S. position in the global fertilizer market, assessing trade balances, and informing agricultural supply chain decisions. The data also reflect international demand patterns and economic relationships between the U.S. and its trading partners.
Analysis of the data reveals a notable decline in total exports from 741 thousand metric tons valued at $537 million in 2022 to 549 thousand metric tons worth $301 million in 2023. This represents a significant reduction in both quantity (approximately 26%) and value (around 44%). Among the top destinations, Peru and Uruguay experienced substantial increases in export quantities, rising from 71 to 102 thousand metric tons and 45 to 88 thousand metric tons, respectively. Conversely, exports to Argentina and India saw sharp decreases, with Argentina dropping from 108 to 30 thousand metric tons and India from 172 to 31 thousand metric tons. Brazil showed a moderate increase in quantity from 43 to 54 thousand metric tons, while Mexico’s exports slightly declined from 93 to 90 thousand metric tons. These shifts suggest changing trade dynamics and possibly evolving agricultural demands or competitive pressures in key markets.
