This table presents detailed information on the stocks, receipts, and consumption of gallium metal categorized by purity grades, measured in kilograms of gallium content. Tracking these metrics is crucial for understanding the supply chain dynamics and industrial demand for gallium, a critical material used extensively in electronics, semiconductors, and optoelectronic devices. By monitoring changes in inventory levels and consumption patterns across different purity grades, stakeholders can assess market stability, potential supply constraints, and emerging trends that impact manufacturing and technological innovation.
Analyzing the data from 2022 to 2023 reveals relatively stable beginning and ending stocks for the highest purity grade (99.99% to 99.999%), both holding steady at 1,870 kilograms with no reported receipts or consumption. However, the 99.9999% grade saw the introduction of receipts in 2023 totaling 250 kilograms, with consumption recorded at 208 kilograms, resulting in an increase in ending stocks from 595 to 637 kilograms. The ultra-high purity category (99.99999% to 99.999999%) experienced a slight decline in beginning stocks from 314 to 257 kilograms and a decrease in receipts from 943 to 774 kilograms, while consumption dropped from 977 to 831 kilograms. Overall, total receipts increased modestly from 943 to 1,020 kilograms, and total consumption rose from 977 to 1,040 kilograms, indicating a slight uptick in demand and supply activity within the U.S. gallium market during this period.
