This table presents detailed data on global feldspar production by country or locality over the five-year period from 2019 to 2023, measured in metric tons. Feldspar is a critical industrial mineral widely used in the manufacture of glass, ceramics, and as a filler in paints and plastics, making its production levels a key indicator of industrial activity and economic health in producing countries. Tracking production trends helps identify shifts in supply sources, potential market dynamics, and resource management strategies, which are essential for stakeholders ranging from policymakers to manufacturers relying on stable feldspar supplies.
Analysis of the data reveals that India remains the leading producer, with output fluctuating between an estimated 4.8 million metric tons in 2020 and peaking at 6.4 million metric tons in 2021, before stabilizing at 6 million metric tons in 2022 and 2023. Turkey also shows significant production volumes, reaching a high of approximately 9.46 million metric tons in 2022 before declining sharply to about 5.72 million metric tons in 2023. China consistently produces around 2.5 million metric tons annually, maintaining its position as a major supplier. Notable growth is observed in Thailand, which increased production from 1.25 million metric tons in 2019 to an estimated 2 million metric tons in 2023. Meanwhile, countries like Morocco and South Africa have seen substantial increases in recent years, with Morocco’s output more than doubling from about 186,000 metric tons in 2020 to 590,000 metric tons in 2023, and South Africa more than doubling from 75,382 metric tons in 2022 to 142,820 metric tons in 2023. Overall, global feldspar production peaked at 33.6 million metric tons in 2022 but declined to 29.7 million metric tons in 2023, indicating some volatility in supply possibly linked to economic or geopolitical factors.
