This table presents annual estimates of feldspar production in the United States, broken down into flotation concentrate and other feldspar types, along with their respective quantities and values. Feldspar is a critical industrial mineral widely used in glassmaking, ceramics, and as a filler in paints and plastics. Monitoring production volumes and market values provides insight into the health of related manufacturing sectors and helps guide resource management, economic planning, and trade policies.
Between 2022 and 2023, total feldspar production in the U.S. increased modestly from 440 thousand metric tons to 460 thousand metric tons, while the total value rose from $47.1 million to $49.2 million. Notably, flotation concentrate production grew from 13 thousand metric tons valued at $1.37 million to 17 thousand metric tons valued at $1.85 million, indicating a significant rise in both quantity and unit value for this category. Production of other feldspar types remained relatively stable in quantity, increasing slightly from 430 to 440 thousand metric tons, with a value increase from $45.7 million to $47.3 million. These trends suggest steady demand and potentially improved market prices for feldspar products in the U.S. mineral industry.
