Ethanol

Ethanol, known also as ethyl alcohol, is a bio-fuel produced from either sugar cane (Brazil) or corn (United States). It is produced by a process of fermentation. Ethanol uses are wide. It is used as solvent, as an alcoholic beverage, as an antiseptic and ultimately as a motor fuel and fuel additive. Brazil is the world’s largest producer of ethanol.

Ethanol futures are traded at the CBOT and at the NYMEX.
