The following graph shows the monthly average exchange rate of the Colombian peso with respect to the US Dollar for the period 2000-2009. The Colombian peso depreciated between July 2008 and February 2009 after a long period in which it showed an appreciation trend. It started to appreciate again on March 2009.

The graph below shows the referential exchange rate of the Argentine peso with respect to the US dollar for the period 2003-2009. The peso started to depreciate on October 2008, after a period relative stability.

The chart below shows the exchange rate of the Chilean peso with respect to the US dollar since January of 2000. Between February 2003 and February 2008, the value of the Chilean peso appreciated with respect to the US dollar. That trend reversed into depreciation starting March 2008. Since November 2008, the Chilean peso started to appreciate again against the US dollar.
